MCAS Superintendent Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins Serves as Chair of Salvation Army Christmas Campaign

BEW-kettlekickoffMichigan City Area Schools is once again supporting the Salvation Army this holiday season, with a district-wide drive for nonperishable food items.

Members of the public can drop off canned goods or other items for this drive at any school, at the MCAS Administration Building (408 S. Carroll Avenue) or at the Plant Planning or Transportation offices (near Ames Field and Joy School) where you will find a “stuff a bus” parked out front to advertise this effort. Canned goods and donations will also be collected at this year's "One City One Sound" concert at MCHS on December 4th at 7 p.m.

All food collected is provided to hundreds of families in need across our community!

In addition, the Michigan City High School National Honor Society is coordinating the annual “Operation Bookworm” collection – and they invite the community to donate new books for children and teens at any of these locations. We want to ensure that every child in Michigan City has a new book for the holidays!

Both the food drive and the Operation Bookworm drive will run through Friday, December 12.
