On Tuesday, May 21st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm+, #NWITweetup social media community will continue their impromptu tour of Northwest Indiana’s portion of the Craft Brew Belt by heading up along the shores of Lake Michigan to hang out at iconic Shoreline Brewery. Appetizer specials, door prizes we might actually remember to hand out this time and the traditional LaPorteCountyLife.com photo app contest will all be party of the festivities.
As always, the events are free and open to the public, especially those who partake in social media or would like to learn more about the crazy, wonderful Tweeps and Facebookers.
What is Shoreline Brewery
Shoreline Brewery is one of the first in the growing community of local craft breweries that have sprung up like dune grass throughout Duneland / Northwest Indiana over the last 15 years. On May 10th, 2013, they brewed their 500th batch of original Shoreline Brew. For the craft brew trivia buffs, the batch was their Baltic Porter. Their grass roots success has also provided them the opportunity to begin expanding their kitchen area - a change that is expected to be completed by fall 2013.
A converted warehouse with high celings, wood floors and open concept, Shoreline Brewery provides a soothing atmosphere and a great place to catch local live acts. Shoreline Brewery is located about a pitch wedge shot from the mouth of the creek / canal that feeds into Lake Michigan. If you’re coming in from the Indiana Dunes / National Lakeshore on US 12, you’ll see that Wabash is the road that you would turn into if you were going to the Lighthouse Malls. But you’re not, at least not yet. Turn left. Go north. The brewery will be a block away on the right.
