The Marquette Catholic High School boys basketball team returned to action on Friday evening when they traveled to Elkhart Memorial. In two tight contests, the Blazers were able to pull out both victories. The JV team won 49-48. The win caps an undefeated season for the JV team.
In the varsity contest, the Blazers came out and took an early lead. But, despite a lead that ballooned to as many as 15, the Chargers were able to rally back and make it a close game. As they have been able to do all season long, the Blazers made the plays they needed to make down the stretch to win 63-61. The Blazers have completed their regular season schedule and now begin the IHSAA tournament. They are slated to play Friday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of Covenant Christian and Washington Township, who play each other Tuesday.
