Yesterday the Marquette girls cross country team competed in a Quad meet at North Newton High school. In the meet were North Newton, Bishop Knoll, Calumet, and Marquette. Freshman Lily Giancaspro showed out again placing 5th overall in the varsity race and Senior Liama Kaukaite did an exceptional job placing 13t in the varsity race.
There were 25 total girls in the varsity race. This race was exceptionally tough as it was 93 degrees at the start with absolutely no breeze down. Both girls ran in the worst conditions they have had to endure all season and proved to be tough. I look forward to seeing where the girls finish this season as they are getting faster and stronger each and everyday !
