Marquette Catholic Boys Pick Up Road Win Over River Forest

marquette-catholic-logoThe Marquette Catholic Boys Basketball team continued thier winning ways as both the Junior Varsity and Varsity defeated River Forest on the road tonight in GSSC action.

The Junior Varsity started off the night winning 37-44. In Varsity action it was a tale of two halfs for the Blazers. The Blazers dominated the first half taking a 21-30 advantage into the locker room. The Ingots clawed their way back in the second half and briefly taking the lead.

A late run by the Blazers put the game away as the full court press caused turnover which lead to easy baskets. The Blazers hit their free throws down the stretch and walked out of River Forest High School with a 49-59 victory.

The Blazers were led by Nathan Flores who had 17, all in the first half, and Braxton Miller who had 15. Ryan Fazekas also contributed his third straight double double scoring 11 while pulling down 11 boards.

The Blazers return to action next Saturday, December 15 as they travel to LaCrosse. Junior Varsity tips off at 5:30 followed by Varsity at 7:00.
