Marquette Catholic Boys Basketball Wins at North Newton

marquette-catholic-logo Following a tough defeat against Bishop Noll last weekend, Marquette Catholic got back to their winning ways as both the JV and Varsity picked up easy victories when the made the long trip down I-65 to North Newton. The Junior Varsity set the tone early, easily dispensing of the Spartans 60-8 in the first game.

It was more of the same in the Varsity contest as the Blazers led throughout, eventually securing a 76-40 victory. The Blazers went deep into their roseter in order to rest key players early for their matchup tomorrow night against St. Ignatius College Prep. The Blazers were led by JaVonte Peals who had 19 points and 6 rebounds while shooting a blistering 90% from the field. Ryan Fazekas was also in double figures, adding 17 points to go along with 4 boards while shooting 60%.

The Blazers will return to action tomorrow evening against St. Ignatius for a tripleheader. C team starts things off with a 4:00 tip off, followed by Junior Varsity at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.
