Marquette Baseball and Golf Results

Marquette-CatholicThe Marquette Catholic's boys golf team traveled to Rensselear this past weekend to play in the Curtis Creek Invitational. The Blazers carded a team score 338, which was good enough for 4th place out of the 17 team field. Valparaiso won the tournament shooting a strong 292 total. Marquette was led by Patrick Roder with a team low score of 79. Freshman, Tyler Paholski, also played well shooting a 84. Jack Clancy & Hunter Paholski rounded out the Blazer scoring with rounds of 85 & 90 respectively. The Blazers return to action on Monday, May 6 when they host Westville and South Central for a 4:30 tee time at Municipal Golf Course.

The baseball team travelled to North Newton for a doubleheaders Saturday, but were unable to secure a victory. In the first game Marquette lost 8-1. Isaiah Papineau took the loss for the Blazers as he went 6 innings, gave up 8 runs on 10 hits while striking out 3 and walking 2. Offensively, the Blazers were led by Patrick Cannon who went 2-4 and Tommy Anderson who went 1-3. In the second game, the Blazers lost 7-3. Patrick Cannon took the loss as he went 5 innings, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The baseball team returns to action on Monday, May 6 when they host Westville. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
