Members Advantage Credit Union (MACU) values the communities it serves and is committed to building a better future for these areas. As part of this commitment, each year MACU awards three scholarships to area students who exhibit the same values and commitments to the community that MACU does.
Recently, MACU awarded three Northwest Indiana students who are making a difference in their school and community with scholarships that will go towards their education and helping them get the tools they need to continue making a difference.
$1,000 Gail Walker Scholarship Award Winner: Araya Stahoviak
Named in honor of a former board member’s commitment to service, this award is given to a student who demonstrates scholastic achievement, personal integrity, and commitment to their community.
$500 Learn to Earn Scholarship Winners: Mary Hervey and Stephanie Van Sickle
This award is given to a currently enrolled college or trade student who is demonstrating the same commitments to school and community. And who is also learning financial soundness through having a MACU Savings account in their name with an established $50 minimum balance.
$1,000 Leona Bruna Scholarship: Kristen Gushrowski
This award is presented to a graduating high school senior demonstrating outstanding achievement in and outside of class.
