Lunch with the League, Tuesday, October 14

league-of-women-voters-logoFire Marshal Mark Baker, of the The Michigan City Fire Department, will be the featured speaker for the Tuesday, October 14th, 2014 Lunch With the League. The League of Women Voters of LaPorte County meets at Noon at Lindo's Restaurant, 3940 Franklin Street, Michigan City. All are invited to join the League at our monthly program.

Fire Marshal Mark Baker will present a program discussing his responsibilities with the Fire Department. He enforces the provisions of the Fire Prevention code and the laws and regulations of Michigan City pertaining to fire prevention and fire protection. He is responsible for the inspection of all buildings and premises in Michigan City in accordance with the provisions of the Fire Prevention Code. Mr. Baker reviews building plans to assure that fire code requirements are met and investigates all fires to determine the origin and cause and makes reports to the Fire Chief. He also supervises the training and activities of the Michigan City Fire Investigation Team and provides information to the business community and the public upon request. He also attends, if possible, all off-duty fires.

Reservations are not required. Attendees purchase the lunch of their choice from the menu. Lunch with the League presents timely and relevant discussions about local issues every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Noon.
