LPHS Winter Guard to Host 2013 Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championship

laporte-slicersThe La Porte guard will be practicing in the LPHS Main Gym April 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM and April 5 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM.

La Porte High School will host the 2013 Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championships on April 6 & 7. Fifty-one winter color guards from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin will be in competition including the LaPorte Winter Guard. The La Porte Winter Guard enters the championships seeded number 2 in the Scholastic A Class will present their program entitled “It’s a Man’s World”.

The LPHS Winter Guard is a seven time Midwest Color Guard Circuit Champion and four time Winter Guard International World Championship Finalist. A preliminary competition will be held for the AA, A, Senior, Open and World classes beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 6, with the finals competition for those classes being held at 10:00 AM Sunday, April 7, and the awards finale beginning at 4:00 PM. A finals competition for the Cadet and Regional A classes will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday evening, April 6, with the awards finale beginning at 9:00 PM.

Admission for the prelims is $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for age 10 & under. Saturday finals admission is $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for age 10 & under. A combination ticket for both the Saturday prelims and finals is $20.00 for adults and $12.00 for age 10 & under. Sunday finals admission is $17.00 for adults and $13.00 for age 10 & under. A combination ticket for all 3 events during the weekend are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for age 10 and under. Tickets are only available at the door.

A wide variety of food and other vendor concessions will be available throughout the event. All spectators should enter at the LPHS Main Entrance on “I” Street. Complete schedules and info is available at www.midwestcolorguard.com.
