LPHS Marching Band Named Grand Champion at Plymouth

laporte-slicersThe La Porte High School Marching Band placed first in Class A and was named the Grand Champion for having the highest score at the Plymouth Harvest Festival of Bands held on Saturday, October 5. Complete Class A results:

La Porte 87.30 - Best Music, General Effect, Color Guard & Drum Major
Chesterton 84.20 - Best Percussion & Field Crew

Other class winners included Lewis Cass, Northwood and East Noble. The A and B classes were moved indoors for standstill performances due to poor weather and field conditions.

The band will perform at 1:36 PM E.S.T. in the Scholastic Class A at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic Class Prelims to be held at Homestead High School on October 12. Bands receiving a Gold Rating will advance to the ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals on October 26 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. The LPHS Marching Band is a four-time ISSMA State Finalist.
