Local Musician Chad Clifford Donates Performance to OE

Chad-Clifford-performingChad Clifford performed for the clients of Opportunity Enterprises as part of a field day event on September 15. The clients at OE’s main building in Valparaiso participated in this all-day activity so the facility could be prepared for the agency’s Packathon.

For those clients who are less physically mobile, or those who preferred not to participate in field day activities, Clifford’s performance offered an alternative to the day’s activities. When asked to donate his performance, Clifford readily agreed.

When I was younger, my mother worked with people with disabilities, and spending time with them had a profound effect on me,” shares Clifford. “Her work was so noble, and made me realize how important it is to help others. When I was asked to perform at OE, I said to myself if I can somehow brighten someone’s day by singing a few songs, why wouldn’t I?

OE client Jessica was among the many who thoroughly enjoyed Clifford’s music.

So far, three Beatles songs,” Jessica shared. “It’s awesome!

Clifford enjoyed the energy of the crowd, and was surprised at the depth of musical knowledge his audience had.

They were singing along with almost every song I did,” said Clifford. “I am impressed that they knew the words to even the more obscure songs.”
