Local Fifth Graders Get Acquainted with Middle School

Boston Middle School hosted the Fifth Grade Orientation visits recently. On Tuesday, March 26, Lincoln and Handley’s 5th grades visited, and on Wednesday, March 27, Riley and Crichfield’s students came to visit.

The students had a busy, fun-filled day. They arrived about 10:00 and were greeted by Principal Carter, and the School Counselors, Mrs. Lenig and Mrs. Lipscomb in the Auditorium. Then they had a Power Point Presentation presented by 8th grade students.

A panel of 6th, 7th , and 8th grade students answered some of the most important questions that the 5th grade students wanted to know about in a Question and Answer session.

The students were then able to enjoy lunch in the Boston Cafeteria where Mr. Merritt, the Assistant Principal, spoke briefly to the students.

After lunch, the Boston music classes entertained all the visitors. The elementary students were taken on a Scavenger Hunt Tour by Student Council members and other eighth graders all around Boston to find teachers’ classes, the Principal’s and Counselor’s Offices, the Library, participate in an Art activity, and practice opening the lockers.

The fifth graders left at 1:00 with a knowledge of Boston Middle School which they will be attending in the fall.
