Local Businesses Come Together To Host The 2015 Winter Wine Wonderland

Saturday night provided a great time for wine, dining, and entertainment with the 2015 Winter Wine Wonderland. The special event paired the three local businesses: Serenity Springs, Shady Creek Winery and Scartozzi’s Trattoria. This allowed guests the opportunity to experience the great offers from all three businesses and have an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

“This event started because we wanted to prove that we could bring people to La Porte County in January. We actually picked the worst weekend we could. The worst weather, right after the holidays, everyone is getting bills, so we really picked this time of year on purpose to prove that you can bring people in for a great event. We are on a mission to prove that we can be a four season business around here, even when it’s below zero. People will come if you give them a reason to come,” Owner of Shady Creek Winery, Tim Anderson said.

The fun night started with wine tasting and dinner at Shady Creek Winery. Couples tasted a variety of wines while eating a tasty Southern Italian dinner, courtesy of Scartozzi’s Trattoria. While enjoying their meal, Jim Post played live music to entertain the guests and enhance the weekend atmosphere.

“These three businesses put on a great event and it is great for all of us. When businesses work together, I think everyone wins. That message is just not well understood. We can make the pie bigger for everyone if we just work together, instead of fighting over the same slice,” Anderson said.

After enjoying a fun evening at Shady Creek Winery from 5-9pm, overnight accommodations and complimentary transportation by Epic Limo Inc to and from Shady Creek Winery were provided by Serenity Springs. Guests could take the limo back at their own leisure.

“This event really gives us more exposure. This is more of getting people to try out Serenity and these other businesses. We’ve got people who have been here five years in a row, and some first timers. There is really a great mixture of people here,” Owner of Serenity Springs, Laura Ostergren said.

Even without the full package deal of $375 per couple, others could come and enjoy the wine tasting and a complimentary bottle of wine with their meal for $150 per couple.

Mike and Linda Garces have been to this event five time now and keep coming back for the great experience. “This is a really great event! It’s great to get together and meet new people in a nice atmosphere,” Garces said.

Sound like an amazing deal, right? The Winter Wine Wonderland will also be taking place on January 24, so there is still time to have a fun weekend with great food, wine, and entertainment. For more details and to make a reservation, call 219-861-0000 to reserve your spot.
