la-porte-chamberWe are pleased to join with NIPSCO and Ivy Tech Community College to invite you to a special news conference and briefing about the importance of innovation in our economy and community. This will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum, 2405 Indiana Avenue, Suite 1, La Porte, 46350.

La Porte has been selected to host one of the news conferences and briefings that will be held in each of the 7 counties of Northwest Indiana. The purpose is to encourage more innovation and nominations to The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana. Curator Susan Richter has graciously agreed to host this event in our county museum and help kick off the second decade of The Society of Innovators. A 7-county project sponsored by Don Babcock, NIPSCO, this initiative is called Expedition Innovation 2015 - A Call for Nominations.

Over the past decade, The Society has recognized a number of distinguished leaders in our region, and has promoted the importance of innovation as a core business value across all sectors. We are proud of the innovations demonstrated by our industry, business and community leaders who are among the nearly 300 Members of The Society of Innovators. At the news conference, we will hear from Dr. Peter C. Kesling, D.D.S., Sc.D, a Fellow in The Society who is responsible for more than 50 patents and has contributed ideas that have shaped the orthodontic field. He also has made a huge contribution to our community, county, region, and state.

We encourage you to attend and support this unique effort to encourage more innovation among startups, entrepreneurships, and established companies and help keep our community, county and region competitive in a global economy.
