Lake Hills Student Selected for Honor Choir

Summer-PinnellLake Hills STEM Elementary school fifth grader Summer Pinnell has been chosen for the Indiana All-State Elementary Honor Choir.

"This amazing choir is made up of 146 of the very best 4th, 5th and 6th grade voices from across the state," said Lake Hills Music Teacher Steve Chambers. "It's a very competitive audition process, so it is truly an honor to be chosen."

Pinnell was selected for the Honor Choir based on her audition CD, which was judged by a regional committee of music educators. The audition required students to perform a piece of music that showed their range and ability to follow a fast-moving tempo; it also required them to sing pitch patterns of varying difficulties and to sing a harmony line against a melody.

The state Elementary Honor Choir will perform at the Indiana Music Education Association Conference on January 23rd and 24th at the Embassy Theater in Ft. Wayne.
