The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has released their Preseason Girls Basketball Poll, tabbing three teams from Northwest Indiana in the state's top 20.
With 147 total poll points, Lake Central led the region with the No. 12 ranking, followed closely by La Porte, which totaled 131 points and the state's No. 13 mark.
Gary West Side came in at No. 18, totaling 64 points among Indiana high school girls basketball coaches.
Northwest Indiana teams receiving votes in the poll but not cracking the top 20 were Merrillville and Michigan City.
Bedford North Lawrence came in at No. 1 with 434 total points and 17 first place votes. Lawrence north followed at No. 2 with 374 total points and four first place tallies.
