Anetra Jones, MPH, RN, CPPS, NEA-BC, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer for La Porte and Starke hospitals, starting May 30. Jones was selected after a series of interviews that included staff nurses and executive leadership from the hospitals. She replaces interim CNO, Rose Labriola.
Jones holds an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Florida Community College, and both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Care Organization and Policy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She began her nursing career as a staff nurse in critical care and ICU, eventually working as a charge and staff nurse in pediatric intensive care and a post trauma unit. Her advanced experience in nursing leadership and development includes holding executive nursing leadership roles. She comes to La Porte most recently from Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina, where she has served as Chief Nursing Officer since 2013.
“Anetra comes to our team at a time when we expect to experience significant growth at La Porte Hospital. She has extensive experience in developing and growing new services, and has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities focused on increased patient satisfaction while fostering a positive nursing culture rooted in evidence-based practice. I look forward to welcoming her to La Porte, especially as we begin to design and build a new hospital,” said Ashley Dickinson, CEO of La Porte Hospital.
