La Porte Report: Little Theater Production of “13 the Musical” Showcases Local Talent

The La Porte Little Theatre Club put on a production of "13 The Musical", which follows a 13-year-old Jewish boy trying to get people to go to Bar Mitzvah after moving to Appleton, Indiana from New York City. Along the way he is tested on who his true friends are and how he is going to survive a new school in a new town.

“Being in this production is truly amazing,” Alex Gushrowski, the actor who played Evan, said. “It has given me a lot of confidence and I can’t wait for the next one.”

The production has brought out a lot of laughter and a lot of talent in local actors. The cast consists mainly of high school students, which gave the story a much more real feeling. It was easily relatable to any students watching. Throughout the musical, the theatre was filled with laughter and vigorous applause

“I enjoyed every bit of the production,” Joanna Huff said, “It was the cutest thing ever and I was so impressed with how it turned out.”

If you have yet to see the musical, there are still three more days that you can see it, October 23, 24 and 25th. The show is surely guaranteed to make the best out of any night and and any family get together.
