All new players registered for the La Porte Park and Recreation Department Cal Ripken Baseball program are requested to attend a skills evaluation. This is not a tryout, as all players are placed on a team, but rather an opportunity for the league coaches to assess their skill level.
The skills evaluations are held at the Civic Auditorium and scheduled as follows: Major League (ages 11-12) at 6 p.m. Monday, Minor League (ages 9-10) at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Rookie League (ages 7-8) at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
