The La Porte Park and Recreation Ceramics Dept. will be starting their Winter Session Tuesday January 7. Classes are held every Tuesday for 8 weeks at the following times:
TUESDAYS
- 9:30am- NOON
- 1:00pm- 3:30pm
- 6:30pm- 9:00pm
Choose anytime that fits your schedule. Cost is $5 per class or pay $35 the first week of class and save $5. Cost includes paints, brushes and instruction. Greenware is additional.

STAINED GLASS
Learn the art of Stained Glass with instructor Teri Smith. She will show you the techniques for making a beautiful stained glass art piece. Classes will be meet Monday beginning January 27 thru February 10 from 6pm-9pm Cost is $29 plus $70 for supplies/tools (glass cost is additional) Pre-registration is required and must be done by January 17.
BALLROOM DANCE
Patty Kolvek will be teaching the ChaCha and the Night Club 2 during this 5 week session. This is for couples only and will meet on Thursdays beginning January 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 at Cummings Lodge. Cost is $70 per couple, pre-registration is required by Jan. 6.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASS
This class is a fun way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy and communicate feelings. Children will have the opportunity to use props, act like their favorite animal, dance to silly songs and use their imaginations to explore different movements that may be found in tumbling and yoga. Classes will be held at 4:30pm on Wednesdays starting Jan. 15 or Saturdays at 9am beginning Jan. 18. and will meet for a total of 6 classes. Classes will meet in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium 1001 Ridge Street. Cost is $45 and Pre-registration is required.
YOGA AT THE CIVIC
Improve your health and reduce your stress by joining Becca Masters for our new Yoga class. Class cost is $25 for a 5 class punch card or $5 per class. Classes held Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 10am. Classes begin January 6 and will meet through mid May. All classes are held in the lower lever of the Civic Auditorium.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Class will meet on Tuesdays for 5 weeks from 6pm-7:30pm beginning January 7 at Cummings Lodge, 350 Grangemouth Rd.
Our new instructor Brynn Hines will teach this class in a fun and exciting way. Teaching you the fundamentals of photography and answering questions about your camera. Class cost is $30 and pre-registration is required. Student must provide camera and film (if not using digital). This can be done at the Park Office, or over the phone with a credit card payment.
