The La Porte High School Marching Band has been named the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic A Class State Champion. The state finals were held October 25 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. With twenty bands competing for the class state championship the top five finishing bands were announced as follows:

2 Zionsville
3 Warren Central
4 Warsaw
5 Chesterton
La Porte will perform in exhibition at the ISSMA Open Class State Finals at 9:45 AM EST on November 8 in Lucas Oil Stadium. The Scholastic B Class State Champion was Tri-West High School.
The La Porte Marching Band will hold its annual awards night dinner November 3 at 6:00 PM in the LPHS Cafeteria.
