The La Porte High School Winter Color Guard won the Scholastic Open Class at the opening contest of the 2018 season on January 28. The contest was sponsored by the Midwest Color Guard Circuit and held at Naperville North High School in Naperville, IL. Complete results of the Scholastic Open Class were as follows:
- La Porte - 67.1
- Naperville Central - 62.7
La Porte will travel to Naperville Central High School on February 11 to compete in their next Midwest Color Guard Circuit Contest. La Porte High School will host the MWCGC Championships on April 7 and 8.
