The La Porte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic A Class State Prelims held October 11, at Homestead High School, and advanced to the Scholastic Class State Finals. The band also received the designation of “With Distinction” for their high scores in both general effect and visual performance.
The following Scholastic A Class bands qualified for the finals: Mt. Vernon, New Prairie, Columbia City, La Porte, Evansville Central, Columbus East, Terre haute South, Terre Haute North, Zionsville, Chesterton, Portage, Bishop Dwenger, Warren Central, Huntington North, Perry Meridian, John Adams, Franklin, Jeffersonville, Warsaw, Snider.
The ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals will be held October 25 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. La Porte will perform at 5:04 PM E.S.T. Complete schedules are available at www.issma.net.
