The LaPorte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic A Class State Prelims held October 8, at Homestead High School, and advanced to the Scholastic Class State Finals. The band also received the designation of “With Distinction” for their high scores in general effect.
The following Scholastic A Class bands qualified for the finals: LaPorte, Snider, Columbus East, Huntington North, Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South, Warsaw, Pike, Northrop, Warren Central, Columbia City, Franklin Community, Mt. Vernon, Lowell, Zionsville, Chesterton.
The ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals will be held October 22 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. La Porte will perform at 6:09 PM E.S.T. Complete schedules are available at www.issma.net.
