The La Porte High School Marching Band placed second in the Scholastic A Class at the Plymouth Harvest Festival of Bands held on Saturday, September 29. The band also won the award for best visual performance. Complete Scholastic A Class results:

The band will perform at 3:59 PM E.S.T. at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic Class State Prelims to be held at Plymouth High School on October 6. Bands receiving a Gold Rating will advance to the ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals on October 20 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. The LPHS Marching Band is a nine time ISSMA State Finalist, 2014 ISSMA Scholastic A Class State Champion, and State Championship Runner-up in both 2015 and 2016.
