The La Porte High School Jazz Band was one of eight instrumental jazz ensembles to perform in the inaugural Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Jazz Finals. The finals were held at North Central High School in Indianapolis on March 18. The winning Honor Band was Carroll High School. Numerous section and solo awards were given as follows:
