La Porte High School Honors 2015-16 Student Athletes of the Year

Presenting the WOLI / WCOE Outstanding Male and Female Athlete Awards will be Chip Jones representing the radio station.

The requirements for nomination of this prestigious award are that the nominees must be seniors, maintain a minimum of a “C” grade point average, must have received a varsity letter and must be in good standing in the school and community. Selection is based on Athletic ability and participation, sportsmanship and attitude and service to the school and community.

This year’s female Athlete of the year representing cross country & track is Kailee Schoof.
The male Athlete of the year representing soccer, football, swimming & track is Casey Cornett.
Congratulations to both Kailee and Casey on this accomplishment.

Also receiving awards tonight will be the Stan Klimczak Outstanding Underclass Award and the Earl Dolaway Coaches Award.

Selection for the Klimczak Outstanding Underclass Award are based on the following requirements:

  1. Must be a freshman or sophomore
  2. Coachability
  3. Attitude
  4. Citizenship
  5. Sportsmanship
  6. Training
  7. Leadership
  8. Ability

This years Male Outstanding Underclass Athlete Award representing baseball is Chandler Banic.

The female Outstanding Underclass Athlete Award winner, representing cross country and track is Shelby Riehle

The Earl Dolaway Coaches Award is voted on by the entire coaching staff and is based on the following criteria.

  1. Must be a senior
  2. Coachability
  3. Attitude
  4. Citizenship
  5. Sportsmanship
  6. Training
  7. Leadership
  8. Ability

This years Female Dolaway Coaches Award recipient representing basketball is Kate Ulmer

The Male Dolaway Coaches Award winner representing baseball is Travis Upp.
