La Porte High School Athletic Department welcomes Sarah DeShone as next head girls basketball coach

The La Porte High School Athletic Department would like to announce the hiring of Sarah DeShone as their next head girls basketball coach replacing Rob Walker who resigned earlier this spring.

DeShone's professional, athletic, and coaching experiences have enhanced her teamwork, leadership, attitude, and communication skills. These attributes have empowered her to become a two-time captain at Ferris State, a captain for her professional basketball team in Denmark, and to facilitate a collaborative environment with major improvement in the classroom and on the court.

"Sarah brings enthusiasm, passion, and a wealth of basketball experience and knowledge to La Porte. She possesses the attributes and qualities that the LPHS administration deemed essential for this position," said Ed Gilliland, director of athletics for La Porte High School. "We are excited to have Sarah as a member of the Slicer coaching staff."
