On Monday, May 20, the special annual spring athletics awards were given during the Slicers baseball game. These annual awards honor outstanding under and upper class athletes. The recipients are chosen by the coaches and must meet certain criteria such as lettering and showing tremendous talent and sportsmanship. The awards are given to both a male and female athlete.
2012-2013 WLOI-WCOE Outstanding Athlete Awards
Taylor Lebo
Sport: Volleyball
Next year Lebo will be playing volleyball at Indiana University.
“I am very grateful and honored to receive an award like this. All of my hard work and time has paid off.”
Joshua Arndt
Sport: Diving
Next year Arndt will be on the diving team at Indiana University.
“It felt good to get most outstanding athlete.”

Carly Jackson
Sport: Swimming
Next year Jackson will be swimming at Eastern Michigan University
“It was an honor to receive the award and be respected by all of the coaches.”
Nathan Gerick
Sport: Cross Country & Track & Field
Next year Gerick will be running track & field and cross country at Indiana Wesleyan University.
“The award was unexpected and extremely gratifying. It was satisfying to be recognized for my athletic achievements.”
