La Porte County Public Library and Brentwood at La Porte are sponsoring a Grandparents Day essay contest for 2nd - 8th graders. The theme is "What My Grandparent Means to Me." There will be a winner in each of three divisions: 2nd & 3rd grade, 4th & 5th grade, and 6th- 8th grade. Each winner will be invited to read their essay at a reception on Grandparents Day, Sunday, September 11 at 2:00pm at Brentwood, 2002 Andrew Ave., La Porte. All essay writers and their grandparents and families are invited to the reception. Finger foods will be served and prizes will be awarded.
Essays are due to any La Porte County Public Library location by September 1.
Reservations for the reception by calling the library at 219-362-6156 are due by September 8.
