La Porte County Library Presents Local Lore: The Wabash Railroad

lpc-libraryLa Porte County Public Library has launched a monthly series entitled Local Lore, which includes a presenter and explores historic elements of La Porte County. March’s Local Lore spotlighted The Underground Railroad, with La Porte County Historian, Fern Eddy Schultz discussing the facts of the Underground Railroad in La Porte County and the impact it had on the county.

The next in the series is Local Lore: The Wabash Railroad, April 1 at 6:30pm at La Porte County Public Library’s Main Location. Author Victor Baird will talk about the Wabash Railroad that went through Kingsbury and Westville in La Porte County. Baird will also be available for signings of his book Railroading on the Wabash Fourth District. The Local Lore series is free to the public.
