What’s the real truth behind the romance between Fannie Brice and Nicky Arnstein? Did Maria Von Trapp really want to be a nun? The La Porte County Historical Society along with La Porte Little Theatre Club will be presenting an after-hours variety show on the lower level of the museum on Saturday, May 18th at 7:00PM, entitled “Historical Broadway.” Local talent will be performing from a variety of shows based in historical fact. The actual truth about Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, and Eva Peron, will be revealed, as well as facts pertaining to WWII, the French and Russian Revolutions, plus a few more surprises, that have been turned into Broadway shows.
Local talented performers for the evening include: Jim Lampl, Sheryl Edwards, Bruce Johnson, Cathy Hofer, Bobby Komendera, Robert Richter, Robert Dure, Lucy Vergo, Sandy Gleim and Susie Richter, all accompanied by Rose Marie Dure.
This will be the third annual springtime variety show presented at the museum. Doors will open at 6:15PM, with a 7:00PM performance. Take this opportunity to come early and view the current display, “Forgotten History.” Light refreshments will be served in the meeting room after the show. The program is free; however, regular museum admission will apply.
