La Porte County Historical Society Museum Display: “Whatzit-Deux?”

La-Porte-County-History-whatzit-deuxHave you ever walked around the La Porte County Historical Society Museum and your child says, “What the heck is that thing?” You quickly gather your thoughts and come up with some plausible answer, all the time thinking “I haven’t a clue.” The return of the popular “Whatzit?” display at the museum answers this question. Items have been chosen from the vast collection of the Historical Society for their historical worth and unusual purposes. Most of the items were part of everyday living in bygone times but have now outlived their usefulness. Forms and pencils are provided as you enter the museum. Take a little time to see what you know and then check the answer sheet to see how well you did. Have some fun and learn a little something at the same time! The display is on the lower level of the museum and will be exhibited until the end of November.

While at the museum, check out the newest additions to the gift shop. It is constantly being updated with La Porte County items as well as old-fashioned kids’ toys, hats…you name it.
