On Sunday, the 5th, an,awards event held at the the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery was a resounding success. Students, their parents, teachers and visitors mingled amongst the innovative and creative efforts of LaPorte County high school art students.
Primary sponsor for the event was the Jerry Peters Memorial Fund Through Unity Foundation of LaPorte County. Other sponsors included Glenn L. Firme & Associates, Michigan City Art League, Land of Lakes Art Alliance, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Stanley and Mr. & Mrs. R. Craig Weigel. Participating schools included LaLumiere School, LaPorte High School, Marquette Catholic High School and Michigan City High School. Thirty-six student artists contributed forty-two art pieces with the following award results:
