The La Porte County, Indiana Genealogical Society enjoyed beautiful weather Tuesday evening, June 14, when we toured the Quaker Cemetery on North Park Street in La Porte.
Program Committeewomen Laura Shields and Gloria Arndt and Chairwoman Patricia Harris summarized the history of the cemetery and some of the stories of those interred there.
Following the tour, many of the participants gathered at the ‘Round the Clock Restaurant to share conversation.
Join us next month on July 12. Members of the Program Committee will honor National Ice Cream Month by asking “Who were the La Porte County people who gave us this yummy treat over the years?” The meeting starts at 7 PM CDST, at the La Porte Park Department Headquarters at 250 Pine Lake Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
