La Lumiere to Host Third Annual Laker Classic Showcasing Top Prep Basketball Talent

2015-La-Lumiere-LakersThis year’s Laker Classic will showcase top talent from all over the world, including La Lumiere’s own Jalen Coleman-Lands, Isaac Humphries, and Nolan Narain. Thon Maker, a 7’1” power forward from Orangeville Prep will also compete. Maker has been named the number one player in the class of 2016 by ESPN and has offers from Indiana, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, and Arizona among others.

The Classic is a three day round robin tournament that starts this Thursday, February 19. Thursday’s matchups include Orangeville Prep versus 22ft Academy at 6:00 pm followed by St. Louis Christian Academy versus La Lumiere School at 7:30 pm. On Friday, at 6:00 pm, 22ft Academy will face St. Louis Christian Academy and Orangeville Prep will take on La Lumiere School at 7:30 pm. Saturday’s games start at noon with St. Louis Christian Academy taking on Orangeville Prep followed by La Lumiere School versus 22ft Academy at 1:30 pm. All games will be held in the Marsch Gymnasium on La Lumiere’s campus. Cost of admission is $5 for anyone 10 years of age and older.
