Among their combined nine regional awards are three Gold Key-winning awards, which will go on to be judged for national-level recognition. Wu’s paintings entitled “Empty” and “Hand,” and Li’s photograph entitled “Boston Street” were Gold Key recipients.

“Season Wu is a driven creative who applies herself to her art with detail and precision. Chris Li is a visionary multi-media artist working in video, photography, and two-dimensional visual art,” says La Lumiere School art teacher Katie Wall. “They are both regularly featured in our Fine Art Friday events, which showcase a variety of student artwork.”

Wu also won five regional Scholastic Art awards in 2016 and three in 2017. Among her 2017 awards was a painting that received Best of Show recognition, given to only five pieces in the entire exhibition.

The 2017 Scholastic Art Awards exhibition is showcasing students’ art at the museum in the Warner and Community Galleries through March 11.
