La-Lumiere-SchoolLa Lumiere School is pleased to announce that its 50th Anniversary Gala will be held on Saturday, May 3 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. The School will celebrate its first half-century by welcoming over 350 alumni, parents, faculty and guests from around the world.

The Gala is chaired by a committee of dedicated La Lumiere School alumni and parents, with longtime supporters Traute Bransfield, Rev. Dr. Raymond Daly, Sr., Mary Lou Linnen, Andy McKenna, Sr., Billie Moore, Dick Sandin, Larry Sullivan and Dick Webster serving as Gala Honorary Chairs.

Illustrious alumnus Paris Barclay ’74, Emmy-award winning television director and producer, will serve as guest master of ceremonies. Also, as a special entertainment feature, graduate Marty Lloyd ’86 from The Freddy Jones Band, along with Mike ’82 and Paul ’83 Bolger from Mr. Blotto, will perform live after the dinner.

“As we turn 50, we look forward to celebrating the School’s extraordinary accomplishments at the Gala with our dedicated alumni, parents and friends from around the country. We look forward with our Headmaster Michael Kennedy ’86 whose vision and direction has allowed this small school from Northwest Indiana to reach new heights while positioning La Lumiere for the next 50 years,” said Board Chair, Mark Leyden ’77 of Indianapolis.

In the past decade, La Lumiere School has doubled in size and expanded its already robust academic and co-curricular offerings, all the while not losing its signature quality college-prep education with a strong commitment to a culture of connectedness.
