Learning British history and touring major landmarks is just part of the LaLu London experience. For the second year, select La Lumiere students are spending spring break taking a for credit course in London focused on art, culture, history and literature. Beginning with some pre-trip research on London’s geography and transportation, students become familiar with the major landmarks and historical sites of this world-class city.
From Big Ben to Westminster Abbey, from the Tower of London to Buckingham Palace, students learn about London’s history while being immersed in the food, art, and daily bustle of London. The students tour the Houses of Parliament and the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.
In addition, they attend a Shakespearean drama at the Globe Theatre, as well as a more contemporary production in the West End. The course also includes day-trips to Stratford-upon-Avon and the University of Oxford. Students chronicle their experiences through the daily maintenance of a trip blog and complete a reflection paper following their return. You can follow the student blog at lalulondon.com.
