La Lumiere School’s Drama Production — 12 Angry Jurors

la-lumiere-schoolThe defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case of murder soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other. Based on the play of the same name, all of the action takes place on the stage of the jury room.

La Lumiere School’s Performing Arts Department, led by Director Scot Purkeypile, invites the public to three free performances of 12 Angry Jurors on the school’s LaPorte campus. An accomplished director and actor, Purkeypile specializes in theatre for young audiences. He has directed productions at the South Bend Civic Theatre, Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival and Indiana University.

Performances take place in the Fine Arts Building on Thursday, February 21 at 7 p.m., Friday, February 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 23 at 7 p.m. All times are CST. Admission is complimentary, donations are welcome.
