For over 50 years, La Lumiere School has produced leaders who have taken to heart the School’s motto of “Character – Scholarship – Faith,” and those leaders are helping to mold the future in all walks of life. La Lumiere’s system uses nine leaders called “Prefects.” The Head Prefect oversees the Prefect Board. Each Prefect oversees a council of students committed to a specific area of responsibility. Headmaster Michael Kennedy commented, “Everything we do at La Lumiere School is done with an eye on nurturing leadership skills.
From the curriculum to the environment, the development of leaders and good followers is fostered. Our leadership program has been designed to empower our community to challenge the student leaders and their councils.
