La Lumiere School is proud to announce senior Adetarami (Ade) Aruna has accepted an athletic scholarship to play football at BCS eligible Tulane University. A native of Nigeria, the 6’6”, 235-pound Aruna had not played football until two years ago.
Aruna had eight sacks for the Lakers this past season as part of his 83 tackles. He forced three fumbles and had a pair of fumble recoveries. He helped lead the Lakers to a 5-4 record, their first winning season since 1999. La Lumiere Head Football Coach, Art Walker said, “Aruna contributes much to the La Lumiere community. In addition to playing football, he is an honor student and plays on the top-10 nationally ranked Laker basketball team. Tulane coaches feel he has tremendous upside and, a chance to be a standout player for the Green Wave.” This is the second consecutive year that a La Lumiere student has secured an athletic scholarship to play Division I football.
