La Lumiere’s Breitowich Qualifies for Regional Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships

La-Lumieres-BreitowichLa Lumiere School rising senior Andi Breitowich of La Porte, Indiana competed in the 2016 USATF Indiana Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships on Sunday, June 26, at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Andi took home first place in the women’s 17-18 division pole vault, which qualifies her for the Region 7 Championships to be held July 7-10, also at Ball State University. The pole vaulting event will take place on Sunday, July 10.

Breitowich cleared 9’ 8” to win the first place title. Her personal record is 10’ 3” that she set on April 26, 2016.

The top five athletes of the Region 7 Championships will advance to the National Junior Olympic Championships held at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California from Monday, July 25 through Sunday, July 31.
