The Kiwanis Park Clean-up day was held on Saturday, May 25th. Members from the Kiwanis Club of La Porte and several members from Rolling Prairie Boy Scout Pack 350, led by Chris Scheuner, arrived at the park at 7:30 a.m. to participate in the clean-up.
The Kiwanis Club of La Porte reclaimed Kiwanis/Teledyne Park three years ago when it was apparent that cuts in the local budgets had made it difficult to maintain all the parks as they once had. The park has been improved upon every year since, with funding from the Club and an annual Kiwanis Mother’s Day flower sale.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to serving one child, one community at a time.
