Kingsbury Public Recycling Bin is Being Removed

Director Clay Turner said the property owner requested the public recycling dumpster on Hupp Road be removed, as people were dumping trash and other items at the site. The Solid Waste District does not have personnel who can monitor the sites to prevent dumping.

“We encourage residents to use their curbside recycling toters, instead, as we have implemented that program for their convenience,” Turner said. “Residents are allowed to use additional curbside containers if they are marked for recycling, and recyclables can also be bagged in white or clear bags to be put out with their bin.”

Two public recycling dumpsters remain in La Porte County – one in the west parking lot of Marquette Mall in Michigan City, and at the County Highway Barn at Highway 30 and County Road 400 West in Hanna.
