Kesling Middle School Welcomes New Leader Dog

Kesling-Banner-Collage-01-26-16There is a new student at Kesling Middle School. His name is Banner and he is a 10 week old cross-bred black lab/golden retriever. Banner is from Leader Dogs for the Blind and he is a future guide dog. Mrs. Hooper, Kesling’s Health teacher, has Banner with her all the time. He is with her in the classroom and at sporting events so that he can get use to distractions. Fridays are the only days that he is allowed to interact with the students. Around Thanksgiving Banner will return to Michigan to begin his formal guide dog training. This is Mrs. Hooper’s sixth dog that she has successfully trained.
