Ken Moryl Conference Room Dedicated by La Porte Park Board

Ken_Moryl_Conference_Room_dedicated_by_L-1The City of La Porte Park Board dedicated the Ken Moryl Conference Room, located at the Park Office, on Oct. 21 at the Park Board meeting.

Ken, who served 16 years on the Park Board and 12 years on the City Council, passed away in January. He was involved with numerous park projects over the years, including the development of Kesling Park, the construction of the amphitheater in Fox Park and the passing of a $2 million bond issue in 1999 that funded multiple park improvements. Ken was also an popular, influential teacher for over four decades at La Porte High School.

Attending to celebrate the dedication were his widow, Chris (holding the plaque), and his children (from left) Maria Amor, Koreen Boger, Matthew Moryl, Joellen Kamp, Melissa Garwood and Sloan Watson.
