June First Friday Art Walk Coming June 7th

Michigan-City-Mainstreet-AssociationThe Michigan City Mainstreet Association presents the First Friday Art Walk in the Uptown Arts District on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm. The Art Walk features several businesses hosting an array of artists and entertainment for free enjoyment for visitors.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts, in partnership with LCSWDC, they kick off Coastal Awareness Month with an outdoor performance by the Banana Slug String Band who brings their unique form of entertainment to Michigan City. By blending education with entertainment, this should be a great performance for families to enjoy. The Michigan City Public Library will be hosting a live art auction and Carribean sounds by Kent Arnsberger. For a full listing of all of the happenings, visit www.uptownartsdistrict.org.

After the Art Walk, enjoy live Jazz featuring Pete Castronova from 8pm-11pm at Maxine’s Restaurant at 521 Franklin Street. Outside of the District, The Oasis Lounge at Sahara Restaurant, 1701 Franklin Street will be open from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with abstract and tribal artist Charlie Sykes, music, drink specials and Mediterranean fare.
