Meeting of the La Porte County, Indiana Genealogical Society – July 2014

lcigs-logoIf your ancestors were in La Porte County from the first day that they settled in Indiana, why would you travel to the Knox court house to find records concerning them? Some good answers will be revealed at the next meeting of the La Porte County, Indiana Genealogical Society. On July 8 the society will meet at their usual site, the La Porte City Parks and Recreation Department building, with the business meeting beginning at 7 pm. A program will be presented by Audrey Kinezian; “Starke Co., IN Records for the Genealogist – the Lower Townships of La Porte Co. That Were Once Part of Starke Co.”

The society meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, weather permitting, at the La Porte City Parks and Recreation Department building at 250 Pine Lake Avenue. The business meeting will start promptly at 7:00, and the social time and refreshment period will come between the business meeting and the program. The public is welcome at all meetings.

July is the month to present residency applications. If you had an ancestor who came to La Porte County early, check the certification categories link from the main page of the web site.
